Glossary of Thermography Terms

Kelvin

Absolute temperature scale related to the Celsius (or Centigrade) relative scale. The Kelvin unit is equal to: 1C°; 0 Kelvin = 273.15°C; the degree sign and the word "degree" are not used when expressing Kelvin temperatures.

Kirchhoff's Law

In thermal equilibrium, the absorptivity of an object equals its emissivity (α = ε).
